The “GarageBar” Story

It started with a love of good food, cold beer, great music, and a passion for old cars and gas stations. In the summer of 2022, the old Wildwood Bar was acquired by Jeff and Heather Swanson and for the next two months the team tackled a massive undertaking of converting a worn-out western-themed bar into what is now a vibrant, car-themed bar and restaurant, which has quickly become a go-to destination across the greater St. Croix County and region.

The GarageBar is a nod to the past and Woodville, WI is the perfect small town to bring this story to life.

The menu is the creation of the GarageBar’s first employee, with a lot of input and sampling by Jeff and Heather and many of the regular locals. Kathy Litzell-Lange joined the team on day one and has brought her 30+ years of experience to building an amazing food offering and today serves as the GarageBar’s General Manager.

The bar is themed after classic cars and garages from the 60s, 70s and 80s. A new “Filling Station” outdoor bar is underway with plans to be opened in 2024. Menu items like the Camaro Steak Sandwich and the Hemi-Fired BBQ Burger or drink specials, like the ‘68 Old(s) Fashioned or the Z28 Whiplash, help carry out the fun classic car theme.

On most weekends, there’s live entertainment ranging from solo artists to full rock and country bands. The GarageBar restaurant, which is directly connected to the bar, has a massive stage for hosting big events and the place is regularly packed for the live music and dancing (with no cover charge for the vast majority of events). And then there’s Karaoke, GarageBar style. And it’s a blast (with plans for more karaoke nights every month).

The story is one that is being added to everyday. But the GarageBar team, the Woodville locals, and a shared love for a wonderful small town community makes this an incredible place.

Thank you,

Jeff & Heather Swanson & the entire GarageBar Team!
